HSNC University honours 45 gold medallists at Mumbai convocation

Forty-five gold medallists were recognised at HSNC University’s fifth convocation in Mumbai, where Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma urged the class of 2026 to carry learning beyond their degrees.

“Dikshant is not Shikshant,” the Governor said, describing graduation as a milestone rather than an end point. He asked students entering a world shaped by artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, climate change and cyber-security to pair technical ability with empathy, ethics and social responsibility.

Vice-Chancellor Hemlata K. Bagla said the university, established in 2020 with H.R. College, K.C. College and Bombay Teachers’ Training College, has eight constituent colleges and eight professional schools. She cited research centres in pharmacology, artificial intelligence and data science, and said students had filed 12 patent applications over two years.

Provost Anil Harish asked graduates to remain connected with the university as alumni, mentors and future learners. HSNC Board president Niranjan Hiranandani said the institution is planning a 20-acre campus at Alibaug, with proposed learning and research spaces, technology-enabled classrooms, innovation and entrepreneurship facilities, and sports infrastructure.
