IIM Bangalore ranks 21st in Financial Times Masters in Management list

IIM Bangalore has climbed seven places to 21st in the Financial Times Masters in Management 2026 ranking, placing it highest among the 14 Indian business schools in the global top 100.

The institute was ranked 28th in 2025 and 41st in 2024. U Dinesh Kumar, IIM Bangalore’s director-in-charge, said the result reflected the institute’s curriculum and graduate outcomes, particularly gains in career outcomes.

SP Jain Institute of Management Research in Mumbai ranked 26th, followed by IIM Ahmedabad at 27th. XLRI was placed 33rd and IIM Calcutta 39th. Other Indian institutions in the top 100 included IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, IIM Lucknow and TAPMI in Karnataka, which ranked 98th.

The FT ranking draws on 19 measures. Alumni feedback accounts for 56% of its weight, while data submitted by schools makes up the remaining 44%. It considers employment and salary outcomes, return on investment, diversity, sustainability and internationalisation.

Switzerland’s University of St Gallen topped the 2026 list, ahead of Portugal’s Nova School of Business and Economics and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Antai College of Economics and Management in China.
