IndiGo trims Hindon flights to Kolkata, Navi Mumbai and Varanasi

IndiGo passengers using Hindon civil terminal will find fewer flights to Kolkata, Navi Mumbai and Varanasi this month.

The airline has reduced Navi Mumbai services from daily operations to four days a week. Kolkata flights have dropped from daily to two days a week, while Varanasi services have been cut from six days to five. IndiGo now operates from Hindon to Varanasi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai and Navi Mumbai.

Its September schedule lists Varanasi flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; Kolkata flights on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday; and Chennai flights on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Bengaluru services remain daily.

An official attributed the wider capacity cuts to higher aviation turbine fuel prices, which stood at Rs 121.3 per litre from September 1 after a 5.5% increase. The terminal, an Indian Air Force facility, also operates only from dawn to dusk and has limited commercial-aircraft parking.

Star Air continues to fly from Hindon to Nanded and Adampur. Travellers should check operating days before booking or heading to the Ghaziabad terminal.
