Indirapuram societies seek action on transport, fire safety and encroachments

Representatives of Indirapuram high-rise societies met at ATS Advantage on Sunday to prepare a joint memorandum on encroachments, public transport, fire safety and local infrastructure.

The meeting included members from Angel Mercury, Amrapali Village, Jaipuria Sunrise, Lotus Pond, Shipra Neo, Shipra Suncity, Shipra Shristi, Rajhans and ATS Advantage. They sought the removal of encroachments near residential complexes, along with better metro connectivity, city buses and feeder services.

Representatives of older societies also sought fire-safety upgrades and a simpler process for obtaining fire no-objection certificates. The group listed traffic congestion, waterlogging, low-hanging power lines, sewerage, drainage and damaged roads among its other concerns.

Federation secretary Avneesh Kumar said the group would seek a meeting with officials after submitting the memorandum. Members also sought a policy for repairing and repainting societies more than 15 years old, along with regular lift maintenance and safety compliance.

The memorandum is planned for the district administration, Ghaziabad Development Authority, municipal corporation, electricity department and deputy registrar.
