Jamia Millia Islamia held ICT training for 100 educators
About 100 teachers, students and research scholars joined the Jamia Millia Islamia programme, organised with CIET-NCERT, from August 10 to 12.
Jamia Millia Islamia’s Department of Educational Studies held a faculty development programme on ICT and emerging technologies for teachers, teacher educators and pupil teachers. The sessions covered technology use in education, DIKSHA-based assessment and certification, and experiential learning.
Jamia Millia Islamia brought together about 100 educators, postgraduate students and research scholars for a three-day programme on using ICT and emerging technologies in education.
The Faculty of Education’s Department of Educational Studies organised the programme with the Central Institute of Educational Technology, NCERT, from August 10 to 12. It was aimed at pre-service and in-service teachers, teacher educators and pupil teachers.
Participants registered through the DIKSHA application and took a pre-test on the programme themes. CIET’s Shireesh Pal Singh outlined the course structure, including DIKSHA’s role in assessment and certification through pre- and post-tests.
NCERT Joint Director Prakash Chandra Agarwal spoke about technology’s evolution and its potential to widen access to learning, while stressing that its benefits must reach all learners. JMI Vice-Chancellor Mazhar Asif urged educators to link classroom knowledge with real-life experience through experiential learning.
