Jamia student Sabeera Haris wins Perazzi Cup senior women’s title in Italy

Sabeera Haris, a first-year BBA student at Jamia Millia Islamia, has won the Senior Women’s category at the Perazzi Cup in Lonato, Italy, with 187 points out of 200.

The international shotgun shooting competition was held from July 23 to 26. Haris was coached and mentored by Rayyan Rizvi, a Jamia alumnus and fellow international shooter.

Haris holds India’s top junior ranking and has represented the country at World Championships. Her earlier international results include individual gold at the Asian Shooting Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, in September 2025, along with bronze medals in Porpetto, Peru and Cyprus, and silver in Germany in 2022.

She also finished ninth at the Junior World Cup in Cairo and at the World Championships in Suhl, Germany, missing the finals through shoot-offs on both occasions.

Jamia officials congratulated Haris on the result. Her next listed competition is the World Cup in Porpetto, Italy, in September 2026.
