Jantar Mantar UGC rollback Mahapanchayat postponed after talks with Union ministers

Raj Shekhawat, president of the Kshatriya Karni Sena and founder of the UGC Rollback Savarna Mahapanchayat Committee, has postponed Sunday’s planned gathering at Jantar Mantar.

The Mahapanchayat had been called for 10am to press concerns over the UGC Regulations, 2026, and reservation policies. Its postponement followed discussions between Shekhawat’s delegation and Union ministers J P Nadda and Jitendra Singh.

Nadda said the government would give due consideration to the issues raised and meet the delegation again within three weeks. Shekhawat said the government had sought that time for a “rational and comprehensive” examination of the points raised.

The delegation included Shubhanshu Singh Rajput of Samriddh Sanatan Sangh, R K Singh of the All India Kshatriya Mahasabha, advocate Sangeeta Singh of the Kshatriya Karni Sena, and advocate Himanshu Sharma, legal adviser to the Mahapanchayat committee.

The proposed Jantar Mantar event is postponed until further notice. The next round of talks is expected within three weeks.
