Delhi: Jashn-e-Adab festival to run from August 21 to 24

Jashn-e-Adab Sahityotsava will mark its 15th foundation day in Delhi with four days of poetry, music and performance from August 21 to 24.

The festival opens at the Multipurpose Hall of the India International Centre with Yuva Bahaar, a youth poetry symposium. The first day also includes comedian-poet Surender Sharma, a Mohan Veena jugalbandi by Vishwa Mohan Bhatt with tabla accompaniment by Abhishek Mishra, and Rajasthani folk music by Anwar Khan and his troupe.

Dastangoi, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, ghazal singing and a qawwali performance by Rais Anis Sabri are scheduled for August 22. On August 23, actor-writer Piyush Mishra will join journalist Sanket Upadhyay for a conversation; the day also features Saleem Hasan Chishti, Ronu Majumdar, Manu Rishi Chadha, Nirupama Kotru, and Roopkumar and Sunali Rathod.

The August 24 programme moves to the Stein Auditorium at India Habitat Centre, with performances by Ronu Majumdar, Sajan Mishra, Swaransh Mishra and N. Rajam. Events are open to registered visitors, with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.
