Jewar airport to get third power feeder; 220kV line work accelerated

Noida International Airport in Jewar currently receives power through a 33kV supply, which PVVNL says has had no reported breakdowns so far.

PVVNL is planning a third independent feeder for the airport and has asked its transmission division to speed up work on a 220kV transmission line.

PVVNL managing director Ravish Gupta reviewed the airport’s power infrastructure on September 7, including the existing network, future demand and maintenance requirements. PVVNL said it would continuously monitor the electrical system and complete maintenance within set timelines.

The utility is developing the additional feeder in coordination with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. PVVNL Noida zone chief engineer Sanjay Kumar Jain said field teams had also been directed to strengthen maintenance and safety arrangements.

The transmission division has been asked to coordinate and expedite work on the 220kV line.
