Mumbai: Thite, Oak reach two Goregaon badminton finals

Ketaki Thite and Myra Oak will meet twice in the finals of the Mumbai Suburban District Championship & Selection Tournament 2026 at Goregaon Sports Club: once in women’s singles and again in girls’ under-19 singles.

Top seed Thite beat Dhun Sanghvi 15-7, 15-4 in the women’s semi-final, while second seed Oak overcame Netra Jhalani 15-7, 15-13. In the under-19 draw, Thite defeated Jashvi Bhatt 15-7, 15-3 and Oak beat Ananya Rane 15-8, 15-10.

Goregaon Sports Club’s Aarav Chitlangia also advanced to the boys’ under-9 final, beating Rugved Tare 15-12, 15-7.

Other semi-final winners included Soham Pathak, whose opponent Harsh Sharma retired with the score at 8-3, and Shubham Pal, who beat Aryan Varma 15-12, 15-11. In boys’ under-19 singles, Rishabh Gajwani defeated Jayden Noronha 15-10, 14-16, 15-12, while Pravit Sahu beat Gotham K. Hari 18-16, 15-6.
