Bengaluru: Kiara Academy stages Out of the Ordinary

Kiara Academy of Performing Arts will stage its annual *In the Mood* production, *Out of the Ordinary*, at Chowdiah Memorial Hall on August 28 at 7pm and August 29 at 6pm.

The first half covers genres taught at the academy, including jazz from the 1920s and 1940s, a Johann Sebastian Bach classical segment, a piece set to a Pink song by intermediate students, and Latin rock. The programme also includes live music, rock and metal tributes, and a six-song medley performed by a trio.

The second half features a Disney musical and a rock musical. Assistant director Tina Dickson Franco curated the production, while Rachel Ann Franco choreographed it.

Director Wendy Dickson said some performers, now in their early 20s, have trained at the academy since they were four. Kiara has directed a portion of show proceeds to Bosco Rainbow Home for Girls for the past eight years.

Tickets start at ₹499 and are available via District, as well as Lusitania Stores on Brigade Road and Mosque Road.
