Koramangala peptide event cancelled after FDA notice

The peptide event scheduled for 6.30pm on August 29 in Koramangala has been cancelled after the Karnataka Food Safety and Drug Administration issued a notice to its organisers.

The invite-only gathering was capped at 50 members and was advertised as including “peptide tastings”, food, music and networking. Social-media posts promoting the event were taken down on Friday.

The FDA named Upsurge Labs LLP as the organiser in a public advisory. The company’s representatives told the department that the event had been cancelled and sought time to submit documents related to it.

FDA Commissioner Srinivas K said officials acted after seeing the online posts and sent drug inspectors to the company’s office. “We did not know what kind of products they were using at the party,” he said.

The FDA has asked the organisers to provide further details of the planned event.
