Kura opens on Double Road with a weekly coffee omakase in Indiranagar

A Japanese cold-brew tower takes centre stage at Kura, a new café on Double Road in Indiranagar started by cousins Kiran Vijayakumar and Prajwal Venugopal.

The café plans to host a coffee omakase once a week. Guests will be led through a fixed sequence: an espresso, one of Kura’s foam-topped drinks, a frost cold blend and a signature mocktail. Kura says the format is intended as a non-alcohol-centred tasting experience.

Coffee on the menu includes lattes, cappuccinos, cortados and cold brews, alongside drinks such as Cherry Blossom Matcha and Biscoff Cloud. The café says it sources coffee from Chikkamagaluru, the Northeast and Akaru. Its Japanese brew tower makes cold brew in small batches over 12 hours.

There is also a bakery counter with daily croissants and cakes, plus starters, salads, sandwiches, burgers and mains. The menu lists oyster mushroom fritters, a spicy vegetarian burger and prawn-and-cherry-tomato spaghetti. Kura says it bakes its own burger buns and uses imported French butter and flour for some bakery items.
