La Lagune foot overbridge in Gurugram awaits design approval

Ten crashes at the La Lagune intersection on Golf Course Road between 2023 and 2025 left four people dead and 10 injured, according to figures discussed at the district road safety committee’s Wednesday meeting.

GMDA and DLF have agreed on the design for a proposed foot overbridge at the junction. A senior GMDA official said final design approval is likely within a week, after which DLF would execute the work.

Four of the 10 crashes occurred at night, three in the early morning during non-peak hours and three during peak daytime hours. Eight involved pedestrians and two-wheelers, resulting in three deaths and eight grievous injuries.

The road safety committee had earlier directed the agencies responsible for the road to build the bridge. It has asked GMDA and DLF to prioritise environmental clearances and permissions for tree felling or transplantation along the stretch. DLF said construction would take six months after final approval is granted.
