Lakshmi Yojana registration in Delhi sees queues and document hurdles

Registration for Delhi’s Lakshmi Yojana has run into early practical difficulties, with women applicants reporting long queues, documentation confusion and problems linked to Aadhaar and the online application process.

The scheme is described as providing ₹2,500 a month. According to reports, some applicants have been asked for decade-old address proof and signatures from an MP or legislator. Those unable to complete the process have had to make repeat visits, including to cyber cafés, and some have returned without submitting their forms because documents or entries were incomplete.

A key concern is that the online system reportedly does not currently offer a way to correct an application after submission. Officials are discussing the option of allowing edits, which could reduce the need for applicants to restart or make additional trips.
