Laptops and phones reported stolen from unlocked PG room in Garvebhavipalya

Three friends staying in a PG accommodation in Om Shakti Layout, Garvebhavipalya, reported losing laptops and mobile phones after their room was left unlocked overnight on September 3.

One of the residents, a private firm employee, told Begur police that he returned from work at around 2am and went to sleep without locking the door. At about 6am, he found his company laptop and mobile phone missing.

The missing devices also included a laptop belonging to one friend, and a laptop and two phones belonging to another. The residents searched the room and nearby areas before filing a complaint, saying they suspected someone had entered while they were asleep.

Begur police have registered a case under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Officers are examining CCTV footage and other leads as part of the investigation.
