Latika Katt’s final works on view at Gallery Threshold, Delhi

Bronze forms set into blocks of stone anchor *Abandoned*, an exhibition of sculptor Latika Katt’s final body of work at Gallery Threshold in Sarvodya Enclave.

Katt, who died in 2025, made the works during the last years of her life. The show also includes graphite drawings of light on water, tree branches and landscapes, offering a quieter counterpoint to the sculptures. Curator Tunty Chauhan said the drawings were made in the solitude of Katt’s studio.

Born in Varanasi in 1948, Katt lived and worked there, drawing on erosion, growth, weathering and decay in her practice. Across her career, she worked with stone, marble, bronze, terracotta, paper and cow dung; her later work moved towards abstraction shaped by natural processes and the landscape around her.

A film on Katt by Muzaffar Ali plays on loop at the gallery. Ali filmed it at the India International Centre on Lodhi Road; a planned shoot with Katt in Banaras could not take place before her death.

*Abandoned* is on view at Gallery Threshold, C-221, Sarvodya Enclave, until September 12.
