Delhi weather: Light rain likely during Red Fort Independence Day ceremony

Delhi may see light rain during the Independence Day morning programme at the Red Fort, with the IMD forecasting showers from pre-dawn through the morning on Saturday.

The IMD put the chance of very light to light rain between 4am and 6am at 70%. A second spell, which could bring about 5 mm of rain, is possible between 6am and 9am, with a 60% probability. Very light rain of about 3 mm may return in the afternoon or evening.

The forecast follows rain across parts of Delhi on Friday. Pusa recorded 30 mm and Chhatarpur 24.5 mm between 8.30am and 5.30pm, while Safdarjung received 5.8 mm in the same period.

Temperatures are expected to remain around 32-34°C over the next few days. The IMD has not issued a colour-coded weather warning for Delhi.
