London-bound Virgin Atlantic flight returns to Bengaluru after technical issue

A London-bound Virgin Atlantic flight carrying around 270 passengers returned to Kempegowda International Airport on Sunday morning after a technical issue developed shortly after take-off.

The aircraft left Bengaluru at about 8.20am and circled near Tumakuru for more than 30 minutes before the crew brought it back as a safety precaution. It made an emergency landing at the airport.

Bangalore International Airport Limited sources said everyone on board was safe. The nature of the technical problem was not immediately known, and authorities were examining the incident.

There was no immediate response from Virgin Atlantic. The flight’s onward schedule and arrangements for passengers were not known.
