Mumbai Climate Week 2027 names Maharashtra as nodal partner

Mumbai Climate Week will be held at the Jio Convention Centre from February 23 to 26, 2027, with Maharashtra’s environment and climate change department serving as the state government’s nodal partner.

The department signed an MoU with event organiser Project Mumbai on September 2. Under the agreement, it will also be a knowledge partner and coordinate with government departments and agencies including the BMC and MMRDA.

The MoU provides for time-bound meetings between the event’s theme leads and relevant state ministers, commissioners and secretaries. It is intended to link the forum’s discussions with government agencies working on climate action.

The second edition will focus on urban resilience, food systems, energy transition, biodiversity and circularity. The programme will also examine climate change’s links with literature, food, sports, cinema and healthcare.

Environment and climate change minister Pankaja Munde said the partnership would bring together government, businesses, civil society, experts and citizens. Project Mumbai founder and CEO Shishir Joshi said the arrangement was intended to build partnerships through the event.
