Man held after two deaths at Khoda flat; 14-year-old daughter injured

Police have arrested a 47-year-old man after his wife, 43, and elder daughter, 16, died at the family’s fourth-floor flat in Lokpriya Vihar, Khoda, on Friday night. Their younger daughter, 14, was injured and is receiving treatment.

Police said an argument began after the woman asked the man to take medication before the family went to sleep. At about 11.30pm, police allege, he attacked his wife and then his daughters when they came into the room.

The younger daughter reached the flat’s main door and raised an alarm, police said. Two neighbours who heard the commotion entered, restrained the man and took away a knife before police arrived. The woman and her elder daughter were declared dead at hospital.

Police have registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 103(1), for murder, and 109(1), for attempted murder, based on the injured girl’s complaint. Indirapuram ACP Suryabali Maurya said police are investigating the case.
