Man found dead near Dundahera hospital; police search for two friends

Harijeet Kumar, 33, was found dead near a hospital on Old Delhi Road in Dundahera on Monday evening, police said.

Residents alerted police, who found Kumar, a resident of Dundahera village, with injuries to his face, chest and stomach. Police said their initial findings indicate that a sharp-edged weapon may have been used. Teams from Udyog Vihar police station, the forensic science laboratory and the crime scene unit examined the site.

Kumar’s family told police that he had said on Monday morning that he was going out with two friends. The family named the two men in its statement to police. Police are searching for them and questioning people who may have information about the killing.

Udyog Vihar police registered a murder case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police said Kumar’s body was handed to his family after an autopsy.
