Maujpur man injured by banned Chinese manjha; 80 reels seized in Begumpur

Police said Gaurav Sharma, 35, was injured by Chinese manjha near the Maujpur red light in northeast Delhi. Sharma, a resident of Ashok Mohalla, was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, which informed police about the injury.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and speaking with local residents to determine the circumstances of the incident. A three-year-old was also injured by kite string in Maujpur a day earlier.

In a separate operation in northwest Delhi's Begumpur, police said they seized 80 reels of banned Chinese manjha from a local resident, Sandeep. Officers are tracing the origin of the string and checking whether it was being supplied to others in the area.

Police had warned kite flyers against using Chinese manjha ahead of Independence Day. Earlier this week, police held three people in west Delhi and seized 1,398 reels of the banned string.
