Manoj Bajpayee recalls Veer-Zaara shoot at Andheri West event

Manoj Bajpayee recalled spending three days on the sets of *Veer-Zaara* while promoting *Last Man in Tower* in Andheri West.

The actor said he shot two or three sequences for Yash Chopra’s 2004 film, spending one day at Film City and two in Amritsar. Bajpayee played the police officer involved in the arrest and imprisonment of Shah Rukh Khan’s character, Veer Pratap Singh, on spying charges.

He said he had expected little from the small role but valued the chance to work with Chopra. “He didn’t promise me anything. But I was very happy just facing the camera under his direction,” Bajpayee said.

Bajpayee also recalled Chopra telling him candidly that he did not make films for actors like him, a frankness Bajpayee said he appreciated. During the Amritsar schedule, he said, Chopra made him a guest of honour at an evening gathering and took care of his food and other arrangements.
