Bengaluru has begun resurfacing MH Marigowda Road from Lalbagh Gate to Dairy Circle. Remaining work may take 10 days, subject to rain and labour availability.
Road-milling has begun on MH Marigowda Road, where Bengaluru Central City Corporation is resurfacing the 2.8km stretch from Lalbagh Gate at the KH Double Road junction to Dairy Circle.
The corridor is used by patients, visitors and commuters travelling to Nimhans and Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology. Potholes and repeated patchwork have affected parts of the route.
The corporation earlier used a jet patcher to temporarily fill potholes outside Nimhans after a leaking water pipe eroded the road surface. The section between Lalbagh and Siddapura Junction has already been resurfaced.
The remaining work was expected to take about 10 days. Rain and a festive-season labour shortage could delay the schedule. The resurfacing is estimated to cost around Rs 5 crore.
