MCG cuts C&D waste fee to ₹50 a tonne for small generators

A household renovator in Gurugram can now dispose of construction and demolition waste at the Basai plant for ₹50 a tonne, down from ₹360, after the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram approved revised charges at its general House meeting.

Small generators can deposit waste at Basai or arrange home collection through the civic body’s operational pickup portal. Bulk generators must transport waste to the plant themselves and will pay ₹360 per tonne. The charge for unsegregated waste was previously ₹720 per tonne, MCG said. The civic body said the revised rates are intended to discourage debris dumping on vacant plots and roadsides.

More than 7 lakh tonnes of C&D waste reached the Basai plant in 2025, including 3.66 lakh tonnes deposited by bulk generators, MCG officials said.

The House also formed 14 ad hoc committees, led and staffed by councillors, to review sanitation, water supply, drainage, building rules, planning and road naming. It separately approved the transfer of 1,445 square metres of MCG land in Sector 7 for entry and exit facilities at the proposed Sector 7 metro station on the Priority-2 corridor.
