MCG floats ₹99.1 lakh tender for CCTV and PA system on Sector 46 main road

Gurugram’s Sector 46 main road and its adjoining market are set to get CCTV cameras and a public-address system under a ₹99.1 lakh MCG tender floated on Friday.

The pilot package covers the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of cameras and a sound system that can be used for public announcements and music. The cameras will be mounted on smart streetlight poles, for which MCG will also take up work, executive engineer Sachin Yadav said.

For residents and market visitors, the proposal is one component of the larger Smart Roads plan, which includes pedestrian and cycling facilities, drainage, lighting, streetscaping and traffic-management measures on selected stretches. MCG handles roads under its jurisdiction, while GMDA is responsible for its own stretches.

A similar tender for Palam Vihar was recalled earlier after it received no bidders. MCG has planned upgraded road infrastructure across 124.42 km; by March, work had begun on 20.6 km, while nearly 70% of identified projects remained at the planning stage.
