MCG orders faster garbage lifting as Gurgaon clears strike backlog

One hundred sanitation complaints remained pending on MCG’s social-media dashboard on Monday, a day after Gurgaon’s sanitation workers returned to work.

Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya directed field teams to remove accumulated waste and restore regular collection at vulnerable points, secondary collection centres, roads, markets, lanes and public places. The directions followed a 27-day sanitation strike that left waste at several locations across the city.

At a review meeting, officials briefed Dahiya on conditions in different parts of Gurgaon. He asked teams to respond promptly to complaints received through any channel. “Once a complaint is received, the concerned team should be sent to the spot promptly and necessary action taken,” he said.

MCG will more closely monitor markets, main roads and public spaces as festive-season crowds and commercial activity increase. Officials were also told to identify people found dumping waste on roads, vacant plots or public places and issue challans under applicable rules.

Engineering teams were separately asked to identify rain-damaged road stretches and begin repairs.
