Gurugram: MCG asked to expedite ₹366.40 crore civic works

Haryana minister Rao Narbir Singh asked the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to expedite ₹366.40 crore worth of road, sewerage, drainage, water-supply and other civic works across wards 1 to 18.

At a review meeting, Singh directed officials to align road levels with surrounding areas and existing stormwater drains to prevent monsoon waterlogging. He also asked them to keep sewer manhole covers level with road surfaces and complete pending utility work before newly built roads are excavated again.

In Ward 9, an ₹4.22-crore RCC stormwater-drain project between Euro School, the GMDA bus stand, Basai Road, Alpine School and Krishna Nagar is due for completion by December 16. A separate ₹1.69-crore project involving drain cleaning, desilting and conversion to a box drain from Umang Bhardwaj Chowk to Gadoli culvert is due by November 30.

In Ward 16, MCG is connecting drains in Uppal Southend to the master drain. Singh also asked officials to remove encroachments before sewerage-expansion work begins on Dhankot main road.
