Mumbai Metro Lines 2A, 7 and 9 Phase 1 start at 6.30am until Sep 25

Metro passengers using Lines 2A, 7 and Line 9 Phase 1 will have their first service at 6.30am through September 25 as trials begin for Line 9 Phase 2.

Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited has set aside a morning non-revenue block from September 15 for signalling and integration work on the new section, which adds three stations to the network. Teams are carrying out software migration, testing and validation through the Operations Control Centre at Charkop Depot.

The work is intended to prepare the signalling system for speed trials and link Line 9 Phase 2 with the operating Lines 2A, 7 and 9 Phase 1. The operator said the controlled testing window is needed because the existing corridors carry passengers during normal service hours.

Commuters planning early journeys on the affected lines should account for the 6.30am service start until September 25. After signalling integration and speed trials are completed, Line 9 Phase 2 will move to the next stage of commissioning.
