Moonjar opens in Ulsoor with a low-ABV cocktail menu

Moonjar, a 28-seat cocktail bar above Nila in Cambridge Layout, Ulsoor, has opened with a drinks list designed for lower-alcohol evenings.

Its nine signature cocktails take their names from lunar phases, including Penumbra, Syzygy and Eclipse, while Helios nods to the sun. Head of bar Sibasish Palai has built the menu around soju, wines and vermouth, alongside ingredients such as rhododendron, sumac and Assam tea. Elixir No. 3 combines soju with cumin, curry leaves, coriander and clarified milk whey; Helios brings together ghost pepper, mango, honey and cucumber.

The space has a blue central bar, adjoining seating rooms and a glass ceiling intended to open to the sky. The food menu covers vegetarian, seafood and meat small plates, including avocado paté, chana aioli and prawn wontons.

Moonjar is open from Friday to Sunday, from 6.30 pm onwards. It is located at Cambridge Layout, Ulsoor; the stated cost is ₹2,500 for two.
