Bengaluru AI hackathon draws more than 300 engineers

More than 300 engineers and AI enthusiasts spent September 5 building solutions to four company-set challenges at Polaris School of Technology in Bengaluru.

Bessemer Venture Partners’ first Tech Catalyst hackathon asked teams to work on an autonomous QA agent for Aivar, an AI assistant for airline crew control from dCortex, a finance assistant for TBX, and an intelligence and reporting layer for MoveInSync’s enterprise mobility operations. MetaMorph partnered on the event.

The event offered a ₹7 lakh team prize pool. Organisers listed Alchemists — Rishika Jassal, Surbhi Jain and Sudharsan S — as first runners-up; Smart Sync, comprising Shrikrishna Shiva Prasad, Jewal Paul and Swasthika Devadiga, as second runners-up; and The Last Minute Mavericks as third runners-up. Four participants also received Individual Spotlight Awards of ₹25,000 each.

Participants met founders, CTOs and engineering leaders from the four companies. Protectt.ai will run a four-week mentorship programme for select participants.
