Mumbai weather: Light rain, gusts up to 60 kmph forecast Tuesday

Mumbai is forecast to see light rain, thundershowers and wind gusts of up to 60 kmph on Tuesday.

The India Meteorological Department expects light rain at several locations across Mumbai and its suburbs. Isolated pockets may receive moderate to heavy showers during stronger spells, though widespread heavy rain is not forecast.

Winds are expected at 40-50 kmph, with gusts reaching 50-60 kmph. The maximum temperature is forecast to be about 31°C, while the minimum recorded on Tuesday morning was 28°C.

No rainfall alert has been issued for Mumbai this week. Heavy rain affected parts of Mumbai and the wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region on Sunday, disrupting some Ganesh idol arrival processions and festive shopping.

Mumbai’s overall Air Quality Index was 40 on Tuesday morning, in the ‘Good’ category. People attending Ganeshotsav processions or running festival errands may want to allow for brief, heavier spells and strong winds.
