Mumbai forecast to stay mostly dry this week, with light showers possible

Mumbai is likely to have a mostly dry week, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing no rainfall warning for the city or neighbouring districts.

The local forecast for Mumbai city and suburbs calls for partly cloudy skies and occasional light showers over the next 48 hours. Maximum temperatures are expected to be around 32°C, with minimum temperatures near 25°C.

Mumbai recorded 66% below-normal rainfall in August. Heavy rain during the first two months of the monsoon has nevertheless brought the city to 96% of its average annual rainfall so far.

The seven lakes that supply Mumbai were 95.97% full on Sunday morning, leaving water storage close to capacity despite the late-monsoon dry spell.
