Bengaluru: BMTC app 2.0 adds bus tracking and Metro QR tickets

A Bengaluru commuter can now buy a BMTC bus ticket and a Namma Metro QR ticket through the same app. BMTC has launched Namma BMTC Mobile App 2.0, bringing ticketing, bus passes, digital payments and journey planning onto one platform.

The app shows a bus’s live location, estimated arrival time, route and stop-wise details. It can also identify nearby bus stops and list services available from them. For trips involving more than one mode, users can enter an origin and destination to view bus-only, Metro-only or combined travel options.

Passengers can purchase BMTC’s Express, Ordinary Service, Express Extension, Vajra Gold, Ordinary Extension, Vayu Vajra and NICE Road passes through the app. Active tickets and passes, past transactions and digital receipts are available in the app’s ‘My Tickets Passes’ section.

The platform supports UPI, mobile wallets and other digital payment methods. BMTC said National Common Mobility Card users can also use their cards on its buses. The app is available in Kannada and English on the Google Play Store.
