Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat to add 47 Raksha Bandhan services

Forty-seven extra Namo Bharat trips will run on the Sarai Kale Khan–Modipuram corridor on Thursday and Friday, NCRTC said, as Raksha Bandhan travel is expected to increase.

NCRTC said trains will be available every eight minutes in both directions over the two days. The additional services will operate across the Delhi–Meerut corridor.

Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar and Anand Vihar in Delhi, along with Ghaziabad and Begumpul, account for more than 40% of the corridor's ridership, according to NCRTC. The service recorded more than 1.5 lakh passengers on August 3, its highest daily ridership so far.

UPSRTC expects to increase its daily bus trips from about 800 to 1,200 on Thursday and Friday. It said women passengers and one companion can travel free on its buses from Thursday until Friday night.
