Nature Morte opens Gulmohar Park gallery as it marks 30 years in Delhi

Nature Morte has opened a new two-storey gallery in Gulmohar Park, adding a rooftop terrace and larger exhibition spaces as it marks 30 years in Delhi.

Founder Peter Nagy and director Aparajita Jain welcomed artists, curators and collectors to the opening on Saturday evening. Nagy described the move as a “homecoming” after the gallery’s earlier years in Neeti Bagh and a subsequent chapter at Dhan Mill.

The inaugural show, *The Evolution of the Soothsayer*, is arranged in two chapters and includes paintings, sculptures and digital media by 17 artists from different generations. Among the participating artists are Bharti Kher, Dayanita Singh, Alicja Kwade and Thukral Tagra.

Chapter One will remain on view until October 10. Chapter Two is scheduled to open on October 17, giving visitors two instalments of the gallery’s opening programme at its new Gulmohar Park address.
