Navi Mumbai plans Atal Setu diversions, 50 wardens for Ganeshotsav

Mumbai-bound vehicles may be diverted via Atal Setu or Uran Phata during Ganeshotsav if congestion builds on the Kon Phata–Kalamboli stretch.

Navi Mumbai Traffic Police have prepared the plan for Panvel and Kalamboli, where festival travel is expected to increase pressure on roads towards Mumbai. Police have requested 50 personnel from the Panvel Municipal Corporation to assist as traffic wardens at busy locations.

Police reviewed congestion points, accident-prone stretches and key traffic corridors in Panvel and nearby areas. They may introduce diversions, barricades and other controls according to road conditions.

Officials have prioritised work on the Kon Phata flyover and side roads before the festival, including pothole filling and road widening where needed. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr Rahul Khade asked devotees and motorists to follow traffic rules and avoid parking on roads in crowded areas.
