NDMC assigns officers to 41 New Delhi roads for BRICS Summit

Forty-one major roads in the NDMC area will be monitored by dedicated officers ahead of the BRICS Summit on September 12 and 13. NDMC has divided the routes into 14 circles for daily inspections and field visits.

NDMC chairperson Manoj Kumar Dwivedi said the council is coordinating sanitation, beautification, horticulture, infrastructure, electricity, public health, enforcement and parking arrangements. A control room and a 24-hour command-and-control centre will track civic services through CCTV feeds, field reports and inspections by senior officers.

NDMC said teams will clear leaves and waste, maintain drainage and take steps to limit waterlogging if it rains. The council will add sanitation staff and night-duty teams between September 9 and 14, along with temporary dustbins and mobile toilets.

The plan includes floral boards at 15 locations, flower fountains at nine sites, and landscaping and illumination at 17 roundabouts. NDMC also plans BRICS branding on 154 digital screens and at about 83 public toilet facilities.

NDMC said it will coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs, Delhi Police, district authorities and other government agencies on traffic, security and public-space management.
