NDMC seeks views on vehicle-free Connaught Place inner circle

Connaught Place’s inner circle may be closed to vehicles for all or part of the day under a proposal put forward by NDMC chief Manoj Dwivedi.

Dwivedi has invited public suggestions on whether the inner circle should be vehicle-free throughout the day or during set hours. He suggested 6pm to midnight in summer and 11am to 4pm in winter, with separate timings possible on weekends.

He also sought suggestions for activities in Central Park and the inner circle during vehicle-free hours. NDMC has not announced a final plan.

Separately, NDMC said 11 public toilets in Connaught Place will remain open until midnight from Friday.
