Near Ejipura flyover, an auto driver’s Kannada reassurance steadied a commuter in tears

Aayushi was crying in an autorickshaw near Ejipura flyover when its driver, Chandan, noticed.

She said she had just had an upsetting encounter on her way to the office. Though Chandan did not know Hindi, she said he began speaking to her in Kannada to calm her down. The words she understood were: “God will take care of everything.”

In a social-media post, Aayushi said he also asked whether she had eaten breakfast. She later said the gesture made her feel “warm and cared for immediately”.

Aayushi said the driver did not know what had happened before she got into the auto, but his reassurance reminded her of her grandfather and made her smile. The exchange, she wrote, was a reminder that kindness can arrive in the middle of an ordinary Bengaluru commute.
