Delhi: NESt Fest opens at Talkatora Stadium with music, climate panels

The ninth North East Students’ Festival opened at Delhi’s Talkatora Indoor Stadium for two days of music, cultural performances and discussions.

Organised by My Home India, NESt Fest 2026 is built around the theme, “The Sound of India’s Yuva Shakti”. The programme includes cultural showcases and panel discussions on climate and sustainability.

Union minister for Development of North Eastern Region and Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guest, along with Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta. Meghalaya singer Lily Sawian was also present.

Gupta described Delhi as a place that has long accommodated India’s diversity. Scindia said the North East was central to the country’s cultural and youth aspirations. The festival is being held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium.
