Gurgaon: NH8 Rampura Chowk service road to close for drainage work

Motorists using the NH8 service road from Rampura Chowk flyover towards IMT Manesar will face phased closures from 6am on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, until October 15.

GMDA is beginning work on a 4.5km stormwater drain along NH8, from Sector M1D in Manesar to the Central Peripheral Road junction. The first closure will cover about 200 metres of the service road beneath Rampura Chowk flyover, with further sections to close as construction progresses. Traffic police said the changes may affect travel between Manesar, Rampura, Naurangpur and adjoining sectors.

Traffic police have directed heavy vehicles bound for Naurangpur to make a U-turn before Kherki Daula toll plaza or use Southern Peripheral Road and the Shikohpur route. Drivers travelling from IMT Manesar to Sector 85 should exit at Rampura. Those travelling from Sector 85 towards Rampura or Naurangpur should use Rampura flyover.

The drain forms part of an 18.3km, Rs 105 crore drainage network planned for the NH8 corridor and sectors 76-80. GMDA said 32% of the work in sectors 76-80 is complete. The full project is scheduled for completion by 2028.
