NHAI considers 2km elevated link for Dwarka Expressway traffic near Ambience Mall

A proposed three-lane elevated corridor could give Dwarka Expressway traffic a separate run towards Gurgaon from the Rangpuri interchange to near Ambience Mall.

NHAI is considering the roughly 2km structure along the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, parallel to the Rajokri flyover. Vehicles exiting the Dwarka Expressway underpass would be directed onto it instead of merging with NH-8 traffic at ground level. The elevated road would cross into Haryana and descend opposite Ambience Mall, with a proposed ramp for traffic bound for the mall, Cyber City and Udyog Vihar.

An NHAI traffic assessment found the NH-8 section from Shiv Murti to the Haryana border, including its service roads, operates at Level of Service F during peak hours. Queues can stretch back towards the Mahipal flyover, especially where vehicles join the two-lane service road near Ambience Mall.

The survey recorded daily volumes of 1.2 lakh vehicles on one NH-8 carriageway and 1.6 lakh on the other. The proposal remains under active consideration.
