NMRC says tender is planned for Sector 51–Greater Noida West Metro link

Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) says it is preparing to appoint a developer for the proposed Metro link between Noida Sector 51 and Greater Noida West Sector 4, near Gaur Chowk.

NMRC managing director Krishna Karunesh said the corporation has obtained the required no-objection certificates. The detailed project report is with the Prime Minister’s Office, he said, and NMRC expects cabinet approval in September. The corporation plans to issue a tender after that clearance.

The Public Investment Board cleared the proposed 8.4km elevated corridor in July. The project is estimated to cost nearly ₹2,000 crore and is planned with five stations: Sectors 61, 70, 122 and 123, and Greater Noida Sector 4.

Officials expect construction to take four years. They say the line is intended to serve nearly half a million Greater Noida West residents, many of whom travel by road through the Gaur Chowk area.

The corridor would begin at Sector 51, where the Sector 51–52 Metro skywalk is set to improve interchange access.
