Noida District Hospital suspends guard, nurse after syringe video

A video that surfaced on social media appears to show a security guard in a blue uniform filling syringes at Noida District Hospital’s fifth-floor medical ward. The hospital suspended the guard and the staff nurse on duty.

Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Ashok Kumar Jha identified them as staff nurse Richa Kumari and security guard Sunil Kumar. Hospital authorities said the incident was reported late on August 14.

Both were outsourced contractual workers. Sunil Kumar had been deployed through a private agency based in Aligarh.

The hospital has issued the agency a notice seeking an explanation. Its inquiry is examining whether medication intended for patients was handled by an untrained staff member.
