Noida expects 25 electric buses, five chargers at Botanical Garden

Twenty-five electric buses could arrive in Noida within 15 to 20 days, the Noida Authority said. It is also developing five charging stations at Botanical Garden.

The Authority said it currently has 10 charging stations. The new buses will add to the district’s existing electric fleet. Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna authorities coordinate services with UPSRTC, while the authorities decide routes, fares and timings.

The Authority also plans an app that would show bus routes and schedules. Akash Singh, who commutes from Sector 21, said he remained unaware of routes and timings three months after the service began. He called for route displays at bus stops or an app.

The Authority said daily revenue had reached about ₹5 lakh, compared with ₹1.5 lakh reported on June 24. It also said it hired local drivers and conductors after staff initially assigned from UPSRTC’s existing fleet were unfamiliar with local routes.
