Noida police arrest sixth suspect in alleged aviation job fraud

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Ghaziabad on Friday in connection with an alleged call-centre racket that offered aviation jobs and flight-school admissions from Noida’s Sector 22, police said.

He is the sixth person held in the case. Five others were arrested on July 8 and sent to jail. Police said the group collected registration, training and processing fees from applicants while promising jobs with aviation companies and admissions to training institutes.

Investigators alleged that the suspects created a website impersonating Noida International Airport and used the names and logos of institutions. The money was allegedly moved through mule bank accounts before being divided among members of the group.

Police estimate that at least 100 people may have been targeted, with the alleged fraud amounting to ₹15 lakh to ₹20 lakh. During the earlier arrests, police seized 18 phones, six laptops, a CPU, SIM cards, bank cards, company seals, certificates they said were forged, and calling documents.

Police have invoked provisions relating to cheating, personation, criminal conspiracy and identity theft under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.
