Noida police list 18 hotspots after 3,998 missing-person reports

Police said a 10-year-old boy reported missing from Kasna on March 11 was reunited with his family four months later after officers matched him with a child found by railway security personnel in Mathura.

Between January 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026, police recorded 3,348 missing-adult cases across Noida, Central Noida and Greater Noida, tracing 2,962 people. Of 650 children reported missing during the period, police traced 619.

Central Noida recorded the highest numbers, with 1,702 missing adults and 258 missing children. Police identified Bhangel, Nayagaon, Yakubpur, Kulesara, Jalpura, Gaur City 1, Rice City and Cherry County as locations for increased surveillance in the zone.

The other locations listed by police are Sadarapur, Salarpur, Sector 37, Barola and Hoshiarpur in Noida, and Kasna, Jewar and Dadri's Railway Road outpost area in Greater Noida.

Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh said zonal teams will use crime databases, CCTV footage, technical analysis, social media and local intelligence, and coordinate with police in other states. Police urged families to report disappearances without delay, particularly when children or people unable to communicate their identity are involved.
