Noida police trace 619 of 650 children reported missing since 2025

Four months after a 10-year-old boy went missing from Kasna, police identified him at a government child-care institution in Mathura and reunited him with his family.

The boy, who was unable to communicate, went missing on March 11. Kasna police circulated his photograph, alerted residents and used technical surveillance, social media, the Vatsalya portal and local informers. Railway security personnel later found a child at a Mathura station, and police matched his photograph and details with the Kasna case.

From January 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026, the Noida commissionerate recorded 650 cases involving missing children. Police said they traced 619 of them, a rate of about 95%. The commissionerate also recorded 3,348 missing-adult cases, of which police said 2,962 people were traced.

Central Noida recorded the highest number of missing-adult cases, while police identified 18 hotspots across the three zones. These include Sector 37, Barola and Hoshiarpur in Noida; Bhangel, Gaur City 1 and Cherry County in Central Noida; and Kasna, Jewar and the Railway Road outpost area in Greater Noida.

Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh said zonal teams would use CCTV footage, crime databases, technical analysis and coordination with police in other states to trace people who remain missing. Police asked families to report disappearances without delay, particularly when children are involved.
